its 5.41am now and im AWAKE. making models is really a good way to trade beauty sleep time with, except for the fact that i haven't done anything more than a box...

V stayed over with shawn on friday and we agreed that archi is really a far cry from what we thought it was. its subjective, judgement is rarely fair, and nobody cares about your process, only your result. so why do we still stay on in this apathetic world of architecture?

my answer to this is that, it makes us more human. under the grilling i felt i have learnt to be more aware of my environment. to the people around me. this does not necessarily mean that im more compassionate, just better at observation, picking out the problems, and finally rationalising them. this also does not necessarily mean resolving them. though at the end of the day you may say it all ends up in square one, the fundamental difference between then and now is that by going through this makes one more appreciative for the things that happen around them. it encompasses both the bad and the good things. you start to realise its all part of a cycle that everyone faces. there are few scenarios:
-good things happen to you throughout yr life
-bad things happen to you throughout yr life
-OR both good and bad things happen to you throughout your life
you get the picture. usually people can't wait to embrace the good things, and avoid at all costs, the bad things.

how about taking a step back and just accept things the way they are and they way things come together as a whole? accepting in this case does not necessarily mean not doing anything about it. it is more of identifying the concept and accepting situations, and reacting according to what you feel is right.
right, refers to the response that you take knowing it is the appropriate thing to say or do while having a clear conscience.
personally, i feel that it is when people have come to this level of understanding and perception that they barely grasp the littlest idea of Life.
