Subject: Query for auditions for GSMD

Greetings!

I am 18, currently a student, from the country of Singapore. I am very much interested in joining the acting course in the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama soon. From viewing the website for GSMD, I learnt that an audition will be complusory before one is considered for enrolment. May I enquire if I am required to attend the audition in London, or is there a separate audition available in Singapore? I am concerned that in the case where I fail to obtain a place in GSMD, the already arranged visa, transport and such may render invalid.

Do hope to receive a reply soon. Thank you very much.

Dear Christina Seet

Thank you for your enquiry. We are no longer accepting drama applications for the 2004/2005 academic year. If you would like to apply for the following year you can do so by requesting an application form and prospectus in July 2004

Subject: Query for GSMD auditions

Greetings!

I am from the country of Singapore and I plan to join the prestigious GSMD in the near future. I learnt from the webpages of GSMD that an audition is complusory for consideration of entry but I am interested to know if I could gain entry to GSMD without flying from Singapore to London to attend the audition, if possible. Do I:

1. Download the application form from the webpage (as I've already done so) and fill them up and,
2. Record a VHS video of me reciting the required passages/song and,
3. Enclose it with the application form and send it to GSMD?

For the song area, does it have to be of a musical genre or any song will be accepted?

I am concerned that in the case where I fail to obtain a place in GSMD, the already arranged visa, transport and such may render invalid any longer.

I've downloaded the prospectus but am unable to understand if my proposed application above is approved. Thank you very much for your kind attention and may you reply soon to an almost bursting with enthusiasm girl,

Yours Truly,
Christina Seet (Singapore)

i thought ive made myself pretty clear i wasnt an anxious applicant who wanted to squeeze in a place for the auditions. nonetheless...

I am very sorry to inform you that we are no longer accepting candidates for this year's course. We have been inundated with applications and can not accept anyone else. Please do try to apply for 2005 and I suggest you apply in October/November this year as that will secure that you get an audition.

Best Wishes
